Our review
A quality set of pedals that come in at a good weight with practical dimensions and plenty of grip

As the name suggests, the AMX Signature pedals from Loaded spin on chromoly axles with three sealed bearings and a single DU bush within each alloy-bodied pedal.

The pedal body also sits closer to the crank arm, which improves ground clearance and boosts strength. The 12mm platform is fairly shallow, and offers 100x100mm of foot room with a generous 10 pins per side to keep your feet in place. The pins thread from the opposite side, which makes them easy to tighten or replace should they take a knock.

The large central cutaways help with mud clearance and contribute to the minimal weight. Our sample pair weighed in at an impressive 307g, which goes to show you don’t always have to suffer a weight penalty when running flats.

We found the platform size happily accommodated our chunky FiveTen soles and offer more than enough grip to keep your feet securely in place even when the trail begins to buck you. The shallow platform provides better clearance on technical terrain and in deep rutted sections too.

In terms of reliability, ours are still spinning smoothly after a few months of constant abuse in less than appealing weather.
