Unconventional saddle that’s kind on your under-crackers

The V-Flow Max saddle is the newest offering from American designer John Cobb, known for his innovative approach to cycle gear.

Developed for either road or triathlon use, it features a lowered nose section and deep-cut pressure trough to relieve pressure in the prostate for men, and in the soft tissue area for women.

Fitting was a cinch, and the super-long rails provided plenty of fore and aft adjustability. After a couple of weeks we got used to its relatively hard foam padding and unique shape.

Following a four-hour ride we didn’t feel nearly as numb as normal. It may not be the sexiest or lightest saddle on the market (270g), but if you’re churning out long miles in training it could be worth the investment.
