The SME3 Pro is designed specifically for enduro riding and racing, with a unique V-shaped body design and fairly flat profile that are supposed to make position changes easier. Out on the trail, it’s certainly easy to shift your weight around, whatever height you’re running your saddle at. The long rails allow a good amount of adjustment forward and backward too, with up to 52mm to play with.
The lightweight carbon shell is mounted to TiNox rails, and together they help keep weight down to 242g. The construction is also noteworthy – and is of the highest quality, as you’d expect from a saddle at this price.
Ergon's SME3 Pro is available in two widths to suit different shaped behinds, but even with the right size, the noticeable flex of the carbon shell and the lack of foam padding left a lot to be desired on long rides, where comfort fell short of the mark.
