Great performance on a budget with oodles of rear-end comfort

Intake aren’t a brand that a lot of people will have heard of, but they make some good budget options if you’re looking to upgrade your saddle. With a slim, racy cross-country profile, we found the Podium spot-on for tougher trail riding.

The mid-section padding is really soft and comfy, which, coupled with the hollow Ti rails, meant trail feedback was kind to the behind and left us as good as new at the end of a good day’s riding. Slipping off the back on steep descents was a doddle due to the tapered rear end.

Sitting on the scales at 250g, it’s not as light as some would like but, for £39.99, anybody looking for an affordable, light saddle upgrade will be more than happy.

Riders who like to be more brutal with their bikes will appreciate the rear scuff protection (I know I do) and, if purist white’s not your thing, you’ll be pleased to hear it’s also available in black.
