A novel approach to saddle design, more for the fashion conscious

Prologo saddles are a new range, designed in Italy and made inTaiwan byVelo Saddles. The company are already sponsoring several professional teams, including Milram and Tinkoff.

The Prologo Choice is one of their top models, offering interchangeable saddle covers via a press-stud and screw system. That means you can change both the colour and style of your saddle, with 45 combinations possible. Although slightly gimmicky, the system means you can save money if you just want to replace a worn-out cover, as these cost less than £30.

>The base is made of polyamide and the cover from microfibre and foam. There are also two types of rails available: solid titanium (214g per saddle) and titanium/nickel alloy (226g).We tested the lighter ProTi Solid rail version with smooth and perforated covers (there's also a gel cover available). Swapping covers was straightforward, but be careful not to lose the small >screws holding the rear clip in place. We found the ride on the perforated cover more comfortable than the smooth cover, with the caveat that saddle comfort also depends on individual anatomy.

>The Prologo Choice is a novel design and lives up to its name with 15 colour combinations and three different types of covers. But there are cheaper and lighter saddles out there that are just as comfortable. It depends if you're looking for form, or function. >
