Our review
Light, comfortable saddle is a genuine alternative to the class leaders

Designed as a performance trail bike seat, the smooth-riding Vertigo is the kind of saddle you’d want if you’re riding for three hours or more. If you like spending lots of time on your mountain bike, the Vertigo Max will soothe the miles into smiles.

The soft microfibre and Protex syntheticleather upper provide comfort; the soft, but not squishy, foam filling is supportive.

Weight is pared back to a svelte 265g by the use of a carbon fibre-injected resin base and titanium rails.

The pronounced curve of the hull from tip to tail creates a ‘hammock’ effect which centres the rider in the saddle.

There’s also a rising tail to push against when riding hard while seated in the saddle.

It's not super-light as saddles go, although it’s close enough to our favourite off-road race saddle, the 252g Fizik Gobi XM. It’s the extra padding of the Max version over the standard Vertigo that adds the weight.
