Bikehut Alloy Inline review

More simple and trustworthy goodness from Halfords, although your options are a bit limited this time. For a start, unless your bike has a 27.2mm seat tube and doesn't need any lay-back, you won't be able to use this post.

Our review

Simply effective, but expensive for its heft, simplicity and one-size availability

More simple and trustworthy goodness from Halfords, although your options are a bit limited this time. For a start, unless your bike has a 27.2mm seat tube and doesn’t need any lay-back, you won’t be able to use this post. However, if it fi ts, this is a fine seatpost, with a cold-forged, twin-bolt head bonded into a mid-weight, heat-treated 2014 alloy shaft.

The Alloy Inline doesn’t have the bolt receiver clips (small spring clips which hold the barrel nuts for the bolts) of the Tioga post it’s based on, but otherwise it’s very simple to set up at any angle and it stays put. It is a relatively heavy piece of kit though and we expected it to be lower priced for this weight and simplicity.
