Well engineered comfort aid for longer or bumpier rides

The movement of this 476g, short-travel suspension seatpost isn’t really noticeable, but over longer distances improvement in comfort more than makes up for the 200g weight penalty.

The Thudbuster ST is a 1.3in-travel (33mm) incarnation of Cane Creek's long-serving 3in travel post, aimed more at road and cross-country use. It shares the parallelogram linkage (albeit in a smaller form) and sports a square elastomer to handle spring and damping duties.

Your first thought on fitting will be to wonder whether it’s working at all; the down-and-back action is less intrusive than a standard suspension post.

But while the effect is subtle, it's definitely there. You can pump your tyres up rock solid for better rolling and still feel like you’ve got 50psi on the back.

The blue medium elastomer supplied seemed to suit a 105kg rider for road riding, so we’re not sure who the extra firm purple one is aimed at, but if you’re lighter then may want to swap the blue for the softer grey.
