Our review
The KS i850 is cheap and, at the moment, reasonably effective

The 661g, 27.2mm diameter KS i850 post has 100mm of height adjustability and, although we only got 85mm, it’s still more than enough to do the job. It also has 25mm of suspension travel.

The post’s octagonal steel stanchion gives the bushings flat surfaces to run on and to resist twisting forces. Adjusting the height is easy: simply pull the red lever positioned under the saddle and let the saddle drop or extend as necessary. The serrated saddle clamp cradle gives a firm grip, though we’d like finer tilt adjustment.

Our key worry with the post is the poor fit of the octagonal wiper seal to the stanchion. It’s really not very good, allowing water and dirt to slide down into the post. The upper nylon DU bushing fits the well but it also has gaps at the edges where moisture will get through.

So far this summer it’s working okay if a little agriculturally with only a coating of dust to contend with, but we fear for what the winter might do, with all its wet, gritty seal-eating ability. That said, it's well under half the price of competing brands.
