Expensive but beautifully made and it works very well

This seatpost is made from superlight 3Al/2.5V custom drawn titanium Reynolds tubing and our 31.6mm-diameter sample weighed in at a svelte 208g.

It uses USE’s Sumo head design which clamps with one side fixing bolt, making fitting and adjusting a saddle easy. Only 7mm diameter rails can be fitted, though, so beware if your saddle has bigger diameter seat rails, like Selle Italia’s 8.5mm designs.

The head is offset by 10mm, allowing you to push the saddle further back than a standard inline post. In use, it’s very comfortable on your behind on rough surfaces, flexing well, provided that enough of it stands proud of the seat clamp – it’s best suited to compact frames.

At £130 it’s not cheap, but if you’re looking to shed some grams and make your bike a nicer place to sit, we’d recommend it. It’s available in 27.2 and 31.6mm diameters, and lengths of 270mm and 350mm.
