Might change your mind if you’ve shied away from carbon posts

At 210g the Syncros Carbon Factory seatpost is light, but by no means the lightest available. However, achieving ultra-low weights has never been the goal at Syncros; durability is as important, and here that comes with the addition of a little extra material.

If you’ve always hankered after a carbon seatpost, but thought you were too heavy or rough for the material, then the Syncros might be the answer.

Syncros was among the first component brands to make properly long (400mm+) seatposts. Our sample came with a 350mm carbon shaft and a 27.2mm diameter (30.9mm and 31.6mm versions are also available), with the shaft bonded into a sturdy aluminium head and cradle.

The 4mm clamp bolts are chrome-plated, have brass washers for easier tightening and are angled away from the shaft to allow better access with Allen keys. It can still be a tricky job with a bulky multi tool, though.

With the height gradients clearly marked on the back of the shaft, height changes are easy to track. We’ve been using the post on a trail bike in place of our Thomson, and we’ve had no reason to give the Syncros so much as a second thought.
