Token have managed to produce a carbon composite post for just £35. The downside is that it carries a bit of a weight penalty, hitting our scales at 283g – over 100g more than some of the (admittedly more expensive) competition.
A polished aluminium clamp holds the saddle in place with a single large bolt, which makes holding the rails between the top and bottom clamps easy. Tilt adjustment isn’t that precise though, as the serrations only allow increments of around 2° (according to our measurements).
Once out on the road, the thick-walled shaft couldn’t match more expensive carbon posts or even the best aluminium options for comfort on either small or large hits. Add in the weight penalty and the Pyrotec doesn’t look like such a hot deal.
