Handmade in Italy, this lovely supple tyre from Challenge is designed for training in name alone. Unless your training miles are logged exclusively in Majorca or southern Italy, it’s simply not tough enough for winter riding conditions.
Over the course of a wet winter you will puncture it – it’s all too easy to penetrate, even through the tread. The flipside is that it rolls really well, like a summer race tyre with all that that implies. It’s so supple that the boxed tyre had a flat rather than C-shape profile. Fitting the tyre is hard work and requires toe-straps to hold it in place.
