If you’re on a micro budget or you’re building a hack bike, it’s worth considering

The wire-bead CST Czar didn’t initially impress us. It was slow in our roll-down tests and fairly fragile. Puncture protection is merely fair through the tread, and the sidewalls are vulnerable.

Then we noticed the price: 12 quid! For that you get a dual compound tyre that rides tolerably well. If it lasts more than half as long as a better tyre, you’re quids in. Some tyres at this price point are rubbish. The Czar isn’t. If you’re on a micro budget or you’re building a hack bike, it’s worth considering.
