Conti Speed King Supersonic 2.3 review

This brand new, handmade, superlight tyre has an aggressive tread pattern, so it's not the fastest rolling, but it's insanely light. That means astonishing acceleration and wheel agility.

Our review
Not cheap, but insanely light, smooth and grippy. Great on the front

>Despite being closer to 2.1 than 2.3in, the Supersonic carcass and new Black Chilli compound feel supple, with great ground connection. The mixed surface grip is impressive, it's predictable over roots and rocks - even damp ones - and it doesn't clog in clag. It does shimmy if you really rip it over on tarmac/ hardpack but it always slips progressively. It's lasting well too, so long as you keep the pressure high (40psi) to avoid pinch flats. Reinforced ProTection, standard folding and steel bead versions are also available.
