Hutchinson's Python has been around for a full decade but continual evolution still keeps it a summer speed favourite.
The busy tread is still fast rolling, but grips beautifully in loose or loamy summer woodland conditions. The overlap between centre/medial and medial/shoulder tread is seamless too, so the rounded carcass rolls into and out of corners superbly. There's enough buttressing on the increased height-side knobs to keep them biting on grassy/loose/ off-camber situations too and any eventual slide is smooth and controllable. The Synthetic Rubber Compound also increases speed and lifespan, although it's noticeably more sketchy than others on wet rock.
The supple mid-weight carcass keeps them tougher and more puncture-proof than average. They've got a particularly nice floaty feel even in standard, non tubeless versions and the recent 2.3in addition is particularly plush.
