The Air Light's full carcass size, massive shoulder tread and anti-snakebite reinforcement make it relatively heavy, but the flat centre tread means it rolls fast once moving. It tends to smear and slide rather than bite, though, and straight-line grip is sketchy in the wet.

The tyre feels slightly remote and wooden too, although impact protection is noticeable running lower pressures on rocky sections. The 2in version (£29.99) makes for a less extreme choice.
