A handsome, sturdy tyre with a great grip - and the TJ name

One of the first things we noticed when Tinker Juarez's custom carbon Cannondale Rush race bike came in the office was the sight of some rather handsome looking new rubber from his tyre sponsor Kenda. We've seen signature Kenda tyres from such greats as Tomac, Lopes and Eric Carter, so it's no surprise to see XC ace Tinker working closely with Kenda on his own model.

Developed to suit his smooth but powerful style of riding, the Dred Tread is the tyre that Tinker hopes will propel him to further 24hr and marathon victories in 2007 and beyond. Tinker knows that during a 24hr period the weather can change many times and this places extreme demands upon a single tyre tread. The Dred Tread features some harder biting intermediate and outer edge tread to help with loose surface cornering.

Further helping with grip is a special dual compound tread with a harder section of rubber in the centre of the tyre for good wear and fast rolling, and a softer rubber towards the edges for increased traction. The tyre will be available in both standard and UST models.
