Vittoria makes some fantastic fast tubulars, with supple, high-TPI casings. This Rubino clincher has a high-TPI, fine-threaded casing but it didn’t translate to the rolling speed we expected: it put in a middling performance. Puncture resistance is only fair as well. The tread baulks pointy stuff okay, as there’s a puncture-resistant belt beneath, but the sidewalls get only limited benefit from their polymer protection. Grip is good, wet and dry, and handling is fine, we’d just prefer something faster or tougher.
