These 34mm-deep alloy rims offer an aero advantage at speeds most riders can achieve. The mid-profile rims, with their lower weight, offer more climbing versatility compared to deeper rims and are easier to handle in crosswinds, too.
Despite bladed aero spokes and smooth-running stainless steel bearings, which help give the 420s their fast-rolling feel, and despite their lightweight rims, acceleration isn’t quite as snappy as similarly priced competitors.
The sturdy construction keeps lateral flex to a minimum, so they’re plenty stiff enough to race and hammer – which makes high-speed cornering a confidence-inspiring experience. Our test wheels never buckled, despite a tough time on winter roads.
These versatile wheels could shave seconds from your race times without decimating your wallet, but might not be the best choice for those looking for lightning acceleration and zip.
