Bontrager Big Earl Wheels review

Bontrager Big Earl Wheels review

The Big Earls are Bonty's heavy duty 32-spoke wheels but they're still light enough for all-day action. The flat, broad 32mm rims are tough and they offer enough girth for any tyre.

Our review
Impressively strong and reliable but still reasonably light and well priced

The Big Earls are Bonty's heavy duty 32-spoke wheels but they're still light enough for all-day action.

The flat, broad 32mm rims are tough and they offer enough girth for any tyre. They're disc brake only, but that helps keep the weight impressively low considering the strength. Offset spoke insertion, super wide hub flange spacing and good height also increase lateral strength.

The front hub is 20mm axle only but the rear hub is super versatile; it can handle every type of rear axle and it's also available with a 150mm width. The reliability is excellent too, which makes the price great. A less adaptable Earl Freeride version is also available.
