Easton’s lightweight all-mountain wheels look gorgeous and they’re impressively tight, but the bearings let them down

The Easton Haven rims' 22mm internal diameter can handle big tyres. They're properly tubeless-compatible with a valve already installed, and while they’re tight to get tyres onto, they seal and blow up really easily. Even our biggest testers haven’t managed to dent their sets after relentless rocky abuse.

The skinny, straight-pull bladed spokes run high tension to keep tracking really tight, with a sharp slingshot feel through corners. Pickup speed is average, but once engaged they accelerate really quickly and they’re a joy to flick around on the trail. Bearing life is below par though, and Easton freehubs temperamental – disappointing given the high price.
