Light enough for other things but it strictly time trialling we think.

This top-of-the-range hand-built all-carbon deep-section wheel uses 20 front and 24 rear DT elliptical spokes, cartridge bearing hubs and will appeal to the time triallist.

Braking performance is perhaps of little consequence to time triallists who rarely call on the brakes, but our testers found it difficult to control their speed on descents compared to a wheel with an aluminium braking surface, even though the brake blocks supplied helped to a certain extent. Despite the presence of locking agent, and indeed a fine tool for truing the wheels with their aluminium nipples, the wheels went out of true quickly, making it even harder to control the brakes. After an initial running in period, the wheels stayed true but we found that the spokes twisted at the point where they go from round to aero in section and they were difficult to true up. A valve extension is included in the price.
