Our review
Sturdy 15mm-specific wheel, but too much flex for its speed-sucking weight

The XC150 is a new wheel from FSA, designed for more aggressive riders using forks with 15mm through-axles.

With this in mind you’re getting a chunky deep section, 25mm wide rim that’ll work fine with tyres up to 2.35in without rolling or folding in turns. Rim damage on rocky sections wasn’t an issue either.

But there are only 24 straight-pull spokes at both ends, and despite being handbuilt, they were starting to get baggy after only a couple of rides.

There’s more slew and flex through corners than we’d expect for a 2kg-plus wheel, and they’re slow to accelerate. The smooth bearings and steel freehub extend rolling life but it’s a one-axle only setup and overall performance is underwhelming for the price.
