Hope's new road wheels aren’t light, but you won’t find many tougher options. Hope’s hubs need no introduction to mountain bikers, and the Pro3 hubs here bring the same super-sealed, easily serviced performance to the road.
They’re handbuilt into complete wheels on site which, with the super-positive freehub, makes them a cracking choice for powerful or high-mileage riders. The full carbon tub rim is a lot lighter than the alloy-rimmed clincher version, meaning they’re an okay weight.
They feel on the steady rather than lively side though, and there’s a bit of softness if you really push them hard. Braking is okay and compatible brake blocks are supplied. Skewers and bags are extra though.
