This custom wheelset from Chain Reaction Cycles brings together two of our favourite tough wheel components for a solid build. Spank’s Subrosa rim uses a broad, deep, ‘OooBah’ profile to create one of the strongest all rounder rims available. It’s broad enough for fat tyres too, making it a great choice if your definition of all-mountain often strays into serious freeride territory.
The custom build option also means you can upgrade spokes and nipples to suit your needs. We’ve been running Nukeproof’s Generator hubs through all weathers and flat out thrashing situations for years without a hitch. It’s axle versatile and there are various hub and rim colour options. That makes it a properly fit-and-forget wheelset.
