Detailing extends lifespan, but still expensive considering the components

These white wheels don't just share colour similarities with other medium-duty wheels, but the devil’s in the detail when it comes to comparison. Starting with the rims, the proven 28mm deep V section gives them a tougher-than-usual impact appetite and supports fatter tyres well.

Syncros also add small scoops inside the lip to stop the tyre wriggling off immediately if you puncture, while handbuilding with DT Swiss spokes means more consistent strength and accuracy.

They're available with either quick-release hubs on both, or with a 20mm through-axle up front and a quick-release in the back. The hub shells are similar to other wheels in their class but Syncros specifies high quality Rock’n’Roll grease.

However pick-up isn’t as fast as the Quad AM2.7s, weight is high and the small upgrades add a big price increase.
