Wilkinson 700SMVV review

Boy are these wheels strong! They felt so tough and stiff in use that we decided to give them a bit of a bashing, and the Mach1 VersusRS rims simply didn't move. Double-butted stainless spokes done up nice and tight help a lot.

Slightly weighty but a wheelset with Herculean strength

Boy are these wheels strong! They felt so tough and stiff in use that we decided to give them a bit of a bashing, and the Mach1 VersusRS rims simply didn't move.

Double-butted stainless spokes (28 front and rear) done up nice and tight help a lot, and the Miche RX3 hubs are simple but functional. They're user-serviceable too, with average quality pre-loadable angular contact bearings living behind extra sealing shields. The rims are a tad weighty but, that aside, we can't fault these wheels much. The weight is noticeable out on the road, but once up to speed they cruise along happily, providing a nice tight ride.
