Nicely sized starter lid for ladies, with good attention

A great-looking lid with plenty of practical touches, the Skyla's drawback is heat retention; it's a bit of a sweaty helmet.

Sleek and stylish in five designs, the Skyla is in-moulded to keep weight low. The peak is not adjustable and sits low, but the Acu-Dial system does a good job of cinching down the universally sized band, keeping the helmet snug on your head and well out of the way of ponytails.

Coverage is good, but this was one sweaty lid – the close-fitting retention band and its padding stop the 20 vents doing their job, and we frequently found ourselves overheating in it.

Bug mesh over the front vents is a nice touch, though, as are contrasting straps to hide the muck.
