Endura is best known for its clothes, but this redesigned version of its first helmet – the Snype – is looking to change that. Unfortunately, while the Singletrack is light and good value, it’s not quite perfect.
Outwardly similar to the Snype, it’s different enough to earn its new name. The slightly odd internal shape’s been revised, though the Singletrack is still fairly narrow and felt tight around the forehead for some testers.
The three-position height adjuster is recessed into the foam for comfort, and it allows a good, secure fit around the base of the back of most heads – though wearing it low only exacerbates the Singletrack’s main problem, which is the unadjustable visor.
The only way to keep the visor from blocking your view is to tilt the entire helmet back. It won’t stay there so it’s not a proper fix. There were times where we found ourselves almost looking through the visor’s vents. It is removable so roadies and the very old-school may not mind.
The padding has a quality feel and is comfy if the shape works for you, while the straps are well detailed and easily adjusted.
We could overlook the Singletrack’s slightly odd fit thanks to its low 278g weight and massive venting, but the non-adjustable peak is an annoyance. Third time lucky, perhaps?
