Cratoni Tremor Road Helmet review

Helmets are like saddles or shoes - you really need to try before buying to be sure the shape of the shell is suitable for your head.TheTremor comes in two shell sizes. Strap adjustments are fairly easy to carry out and the shell strikes a happy medium between round and oval head shapes. A ratcheting closure helps create the perfect fit, though the S/M (54-60cm) tested is a little on the tight side for my confirmed size 59 bonce.

Best to try before you buy – especially if you have a large head

TheTremor is one down from Cratoni's weight saving Ceron model that uses in-moulded carbon strips to maintain the structural integrity of the shell in a crash, and while theTremor uses a simple co-moulded shell it looks plenty strong enough at the front and the styling is right up there with the likes of Met and Giro, with a grand total of 17 vents proving highly effective in warm weather.TheTremor complies with test standard CE EN 1078 and comes with a half-price crash replacement warranty. Also available in size L/XL (58-62cm).
