Great value and solid performance from this little track pump

When you’re at home you don’t want to be sweating over 300 strokes from your hand pump to get your tyres to 40psi – you need a big track pump.

We’ve had a run of new floor pumps at BikeRadar over the past few months and some have been excellent, so anything new would have to be pretty special to stand out – but this little gem from Beto has made us look twice.

The key features with this pump are its low price and its tripod foot shape. In fact, the Beto’s tripod has redefined what we expect from track pumps in terms of stability.

Beto have given their new track pump a slide-out tripod stand, dual-valve head and pressure gauge. Of these details, the tripod makes the most difference: three legs just seem to make more sense than a pair of small feet.

We found it was much less effort to get air pumped into the tyres purely because less effort was required to stabilise the pump. This is a boon, especially if you have to use the pump outdoors on rough or uneven ground. Because of this, it has become the de facto BikeRadar photoshoot track pump – high praise indeed.
