The PFP4 is a chunky offering, and good looking to boot. The big gauge, rubberised handle and enormous hose (the longest I’ve seen on a track pump) conspire to make it easy to use as well. Despite its beefy looks it’s not the sturdiest in use, but pumping to 100psi and above is no drama.

There’s no release valve, which is a shame on a pump costing this much, but other than that it’s reasonably good news. Fifty quid is a lot to pay for a track pump though, especially when the performance is good, rather than great.
