SKS Air-X-Press review

Sixteen quid is not a lot to pay for a track pump, and we weren't expecting miracles. The all plastic construction (save for a metal plunger shaft) is cheap but doesn't feel too flimsy.

Not dreadful, but for not many extra pennies you could get a far higher quality pump

Sixteen quid is not a lot to pay for a track pump, and we weren't expecting miracles. The all plastic construction (save for a metal plunger shaft) is cheap but doesn't feel too flimsy.

The hose is awful, very inflexible and so short that it won't even reach the top of a 700c wheel. The gauge is fine if a bit small, and though it goes up to 140 the pump's only rated to 115psi. It didn't have any trouble getting to 100 though. The dual head is fine, though there's a couple of sharp flanges to catch unwary fingers. Not dreadful, but it won't take you long to save up the four extra quid you'll need to buy a much better track pump.
