Expensive, but with some well-conceived tools and a quality feel

No, you didn’t read that price wrong, but for your (really quite stupendous) outlay you do get 63 separate items. Astonishingly, a chainring bolt tool isn’t one of them. Although it’s inexpensively added, you’d be forgiven for thinking that you shouldn’t have to spend a penny extra.

On the other hand, you’ll never go short of an Allen key, with the inclusion of every conceivable version including our preferred T style meaning there’s always one that’ll fit the job.

We really like the external bottom bracket removal tool for its positive feel and rock solid operation, and the vise whip – which does the same job of locking onto the cassette sprockets as a chain whip but with less faff – is another excellent extra.

There are also ratchet spanners and a tape measure. We’d happily sacrifice some of the cone spanners, though – you’re unlikely to ever use all seven sizes. There’s no compromise in the specification of the case, which is solidly built and has a waterproof seal.
