Our review

A well engineered and unique looking, if expensive, trail helmet from Norway

With its unique looks and range of distinct colours, the Sweet Protection Bushwhacker helmet certainly grabs your attention even before you’ve put it on.

Our medium/large test helmet felt bigger than similar enduro/trail helmets size-for-size, easily accommodating heads bigger than the stated 59cm limit, so we’d recommend trying before you buy. It weighed in at a reasonable 330g.

The retention system can be easily adjusted with one hand and has a good range of adjustment, though the cradle’s close proximity to your ears can cause some interference if you ride in glasses.

Out on the bike, the helmet isn’t too obtrusive despite its increased coverage and level of protection. It sits quite far forward on your head (even with the cradle adjusted all the way in) but didn’t cause us any visual distraction, though an adjustable peak would be a bonus.

The 17 vents promote a decent amount of airflow, so it stays reasonably cool on the move. Construction and overall quality is of a high standard throughout, but at this price, it really should be.
