Picks up where THE’s One left off – a great lid with well thought out details and snappy looks at a decent price

THE's One helmet was one of the most popular downhill lids in the UK and the new T2 looks set to continue its success. With its hand-laid carbon fibre construction, the T2 tips the scales at a scant 970g and, as with the previous model, it cuts away quite deeply at the sides, which allows excellent lateral vision with all brands of goggle.

We also found that the T2 has a better, snugger fit than the previous model. That quality fit and light weight makes for a really compact yet secure feeling helmet – there’s next to no movement and we had no issues with neck-brace banging.

Other neat little features include a high-quality washable liner, D-ring fastening and a handily obvious goggle channel, which reduces fumbling when putting eyewear on. The airflow is good too, thanks to the 17 strategically placed vents, but the snugger fit did make us feel a fraction warmer compared to the older model.

But really that’s a very minor niggle, and the security and ease of movement provided by the snug fit far outweigh any mild overheating issues. As usual with THE, you get a quality helmet bag and a spare peak included in the deal too.
