Sigma’s BC 14.12 ALTI is a relatively advanced bike computer, despite being a wired unit. Its unique features are an altimeter and thermometer.
Once set-up, this unit allows you to have almost as much data as a GPS unit might provide. Over time the altimeter remained accurate, giving us an insight on how much climbing we’d done, along with maximum altitude.
Setting it up requires you to know your current altitude, but it’s a simple process to get it all working properly. The wire to the sensor requires wrapping round a brake cable, which looks messy. The rubber bands feel a bit strained around bladed forks.
