Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Fyxation debuted its urban line of fixed-gear components at Interbike 2009, including its US$49 Session 700 tyres, saddles, pedals and complimentary bits.
Brothers Ben and Nick Ginster talked us through the new Session 700 tyres, available in green, black, orange, white and pink. Blue, red, black and brown white walls were also shown in the small corner booth. The 700x28c foldable tyre uses a 120TPI (threads per inch) casing with a Kevlar belt for added durability and skidding enjoyment.
Ben Ginster added that the best Session 700 for skid-mad riders is the black model, which has a touch more density than the other colours. Black and brown models come with white sidewalls.
For saddles, Ginster has taken the classic 1970s and `80s road racer shape and used riveted leather uppers with an anatomic cutaway underneath to relieve undercarriage pressure. Cromoly rails finish off the look. Other saddle shapes make a nod to the popular Japanese keirin racing style, with a narrower fit and rolled sides.

Other products displayed included translucent platform pedals, which were shown with Fyxation friend Hold Fast FRS (foot retention system) straps, made in Brooklyn, New York. http://www.holdfastordie.com/ The US$57 straps also come in a range of colours to satisfy anyone's taste.
A Milwaukee Bruiser urban fixed-trickster bike was adorned with Fyxation bits stem to stern, reflecting the new direction for hard-core street and trick riding.
