The cream of Scottish cycling are set to attend the fourth annual national bike show, including six-time Olympic gold medallist, Sir Chris Hoy, commentator Brian Smith and national track racing star Charline Joiner.
The Scottish Bike Show will take place on 5 and 6 April at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow and will feature a variety of family friendly activities.
Organiser Rowan Mackie said the Scottish Bike Show would have a strong Commonwealth Games theme given the event was taking place in the track cycling venue just months before the Games came to Glasgow in late July. A number of athletes including Joiner, who suffered a training crash last year, sprinter Eileen Roe and NFTO pro,James McCallum are chalked to attend.
"It's a good strong Scottish contingent and that ties in with the Commonwealth Games," Mackie said.
Mackie said performances by The Clan – where stunt star Danny Macaskill started out – and hands-on activities like track taster sessions, demo opportunities on exibitors' bikes and the chance to have a go on the pump track meant there would be loads to do for all the family.
A number of top brands including Pinarello, Hoy Bikes and the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative will also be exhibiting over the weekend, and BikeRadar will give riders the chance to optimise their position on the bike in the Bike Fit Studio.

It’s the second year the Scottish Bike Show has set up at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Emirates Arena. Last year, the track taster sessions were a popular draw and Mackie said chances to have a go on the boards will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis
