Light fabric good for warm weather, but pricey and not for rough use

These shorts combine almost featherweight stretch with sturdier rib-effect front and back panels, which add reassuring durability and bramble protection.

That said, the seat panel is made from thinner fabric, so if you’re heavy on your shorts you might want to consider this. The legs also feature some subtle reflective detailing, handy when riding at night.

The fabrics, combined with a very easy cut, give an airy feel that makes them hardly noticeable when riding. It does come at the expense of fit, though. The shape is almost square, and we found that even though the Velcro adjusters are generous, the elastic-backed waist still gives more movement than we’d like.

The liner is a comfortable, cool mesh and its waist lining is a softer wicking mesh; it’s in eye-popping green too. We don’t load up pockets when we ride so the hidden zipped ones on the hips were enough for us, but if you like to carry lots you’ll be disappointed.
