When paired with its app and remote, the Coros OMNI helmet offers smartphone connectivity and two-way audio — without earbuds, wires or other safety compromises. The helmet uses bone conduction to transmit audio, so you can still hear what’s going on around you.

The Coros OMNI lets you listen to music, take phone calls or listen to turn-by-turn navigation.

How the Coros OMNI works

The Coros OMNI smart helmet uses bone conduction technology on the helmet straps, which rest on the rider’s cheekbones. Bone conduction sends small vibrations directly to the inner ear, bypassing the ear canal and eardrum, leaving the ear completely open and aware of external noises such as cars or conversations with fellow riders. 

The helmet also has a wind-resistant microphone near the forehead for two-way communication. 

The OMNI ships with a wireless smart remote so the rider can keep their eyes on the road and hands on the bars while controlling their media and calls with the tap of a button.

LED lights integrated into the helmet add extra visibility during the day and night.

Coros OMNI hybrid smart cycling helmet availability and pricing

The helmet has been launched today as part of a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. When the helmet retails it will cost $199.99, but Indiegogo backers will receive a variety of early bird pricing based on availability: the super early bird price of $99 (200 available), early bird at $129 (500 available) and then $149 unlimited quantities.


The OMNI will be available in four colours: Matte Black, Matte Red/Black, Matte White and Matte Blue/White and is estimated to be ready for shipping in February 2018.
