Komoot's new Send to Device functionality enables you to send routes planned on the app (which it calls Tours) to any Garmin cycling computer or smartwatch with one click.

This means that rather than having to scroll through all the saved routes on your Garmin Edge bike computer, your latest Komoot route is loaded and ready to ride.

Komoot says the functionality is available on any Garmin device that uses Garmin Connect IQ, and which has the Komoot Garmin app loaded.

When a user opens the Komoot Connect IQ app, the new Komoot route will be loaded automatically.

Komoot says you'll need the Komoot app version 3.6.4 or later. You also need an internet connection.

Upload a new route to a smartwatch while still logging an activity

On Garmin smartwatches, such as the Fenix 7, the Send to Device feature will operate without interrupting an activity that's already being logged.

This means users can update a route while continuing to log their current activity, so they don’t need to stop it and restart a new activity to follow the newly uploaded route. Users will get a prompt to ask if they want to modify their route.

Komoot reckons its new one-button upload offers Garmin users the smoothest route synchronisation available, so they don’t need to spend as long preparing before heading out for a ride.
