Our review
On the warm side, but a good trail jersey that wicks well with some useful features

Although not especially heavy, the Bontrager jersey caused us to heat up more than any of the others in our latest groupest, taking the whole test period into account.

Our average skin temperature was highest and our core temperature rose most, so for hot weather performance we’d be looking elsewhere.

That said, the main fabric is good at wicking sweat away from your skin – even when we were steaming away in the sweatbox we didn’t feel too clammy – and the neck zip is long for extra freshening.

Flat-stitched everywhere, this is a well designed jersey. The tops of the shoulders are durable enough to stand up to a twig flicking without any threads catching, and the silicone grips are sticky enough to help hold the straps of your hydration pack in place as you move around.

There’s one small zipped side pocket, and the generously sized glasses wipe is a handy extra. Although not the best in the heat, this is a tough, well featured trail jersey.
