Vangard Elite MTS windbreaker review

Basically just a base layer with a windproof front, this simple shirt is still a useful performer.

Excellent base layer with beefed up antibreeze freeze protection

Although the Vangard Elite MTS windbreaker is basically just a base layer with a windproof front, this simple shirt is still a useful performer.

Based on Vangard's excellent ribbed MTS Elite base layer, it stretches well to stay close to the skin and maximise wicking. The windbreaker panel down the front stops your lungs and belly getting frozen on fast descents.

On its own, it's great for slightly chilly days or hard working high heat rides when cooler arms are actually a bonus. It still works well under other layers, although you do get a bit more sweat up your front than a standard base.

You might find the sleeves a bit short if you're a gibbon, and it rustles a bit, but for the price and overall performance it's a great core warmer.
