If only all waterproof trousers were this well designed

It's nice when a product does what it says on the tin, and these pants do just that. Using Gore-Tex Paclite material, they managed to keep our legs about 90% dry, which is as dry as it gets when you're working hard and it's raining.

In fact, when it stopped raining the Paclite material breathed exceptionally well. Gore has a well thought-out design here, with a triangular elasticated waist band, flexible waterproof thigh area and pre-shaped knee, which although awkward when off the bike does not restrict movement when on it. A high-cut back and a more robust fabric cleverly positioned to take the saddle wear leaves you wondering what Gore missed.

They pack into their own back pocket, fitting into your jersey's back pocket. The Velcro ankles allowed for height and width adjustment, while also keeping water out. Reflective logos are complemented by the calf's reflective piping, which complete an impressively specced pair of pants.
