Northwave Rocker mountain bike shoes review£66.00

Hard-wearing lace-ups

BikeRadar score3/5

The hard-wearing Cordura nylon upper panels on the Rocker are tough enough to cope with protracted periods spent roughing it on the trails. While not waterproof it does shake off a light shower and dries out reasonably quickly. Stiffness is good but not exceptional.

The Rocker is a lace-up shoe with a Velcro lace saver strap and we had no problems getting a fit on our slightly-wider-than-medium-width feet, we'd have liked more toe room, especially in cold weather where the all-important circulatory enhancing ‘wiggle’ room was only just acceptable.

Cleat pocket depth was perfect with Shimano SPD cleats and there was no skating sensation from cleats contacting on hard floors. One moan is, why can’t we have more colour in trail shoes? Race shoes look sporty, but trail shoes look like they should be pacing about in a library.
