Italian clothing label Bicycle Line will celebrate 25 years in the business in 2012, producing threads for road cyclists of all calibres, on top of custom team wear.

Though they don't always sport the reassuring 'Made in Italy' tag, the samples we recently received look to be solid gear at decent prices. The Bicycle Line don't have a UK or US distributor at the moment, but their products can be shipped from their distributors in Ireland (CycleSuperStore) and Canada (Arg Sports).

Tempesta Jacket

Made from a breathable, water and windproof material, the Tempesta (€120) is lightweight enough to be worn all year round, providing you have adequate layering. Zips on both underarms reveal a mesh for added ventilation, while an attached bag allows for easy and compact storage. As well as this black version here, it's available in white and yellow options.

Eklissy Evo Jersey

Ideal for cold, dry autumn mornings, a thin base layer may be enough with the Eklissy Evo (€110). The standard three rear zip, full length front zip and silicone waist gripper combine with a reinforced chest area for wind protection. There's an internal headphone opening in the rear zipped pocket to listen to music, but we'd never recommend using it on the open road. Our medium wasn't your typical Italian sizing and we wouldn't suggest sizing up is necessary. A red option is also available.

Long Sleeved Jersey

Made predominantly from nylon but with Lycra and even a bit of carbon fibre thrown in for good measure, this is really a base layer with a different name. Our medium looked to be sized for a small child out the box, but it's an incredible fit. As with all base layers, it doubles up as a means to keep you warm and wick away sweat from your body. Tank top and short sleeve versions are options, with the this long sleeved version costing €79.95.

Thunder bib tights

For when full length is too much and shorts are not enough, these 3/4 tights look to be just the trick for this time of year. A 16cm zip on the front will help keep the wind of your midriff, while mesh inserts on the back should keep you cool where its needed. Available in red and white options too. RRP €99.95.
