Ibis Cycles have announced their continued support of Anne-Caroline Chausson through 2012. The 19-time world champion gravity racer won more than a half-dozen major endurance gravity events with Ibis in 2011.
Though Chausson now has Ibis’s entire quiver at her disposal, it was the Mojo HD that drew her to the company. Scot Nicol, Ibis Cycles’ co-founder and current co-owner, said he connected with Chausson by chance.
“Chausson was introduced to Ibis through a mutual friend, and though it came from out of the blue, it was a connection that Ibis was happy to have made,” Nicol told BikeRadar. “When one of the greatest cyclists ever wants to ride your bike you don’t ask questions – you just get her what she wants. Fortunately for us, that was a Mojo HD.”

The highlights of Chausson’s 2011 season include wins at: MaxiAvalanche, Andorra; Avalanche Cup, Lyon (on an Ibis Tranny hardtail); Coupe de France Enduro, Les Gets; Coupe de France Enduro, Allos; MegaAvalanche, Alpe d’Huez; Crankworx Air DH, Whistler, Canada; and the Crankworx Canadian Open Enduro.
With such a successful season, Ibis only hoped to keep Chausson for 2012; Nicol said he feels lucky to have worked out another sponsorship with her. “With ACC and Brian Lopes, we’ve been fortunate enough to work with two of the best riders in the history of the sport,” he said. “It’s like we have this powerhouse racing team capable of winning every event they enter, and we can shuttle them around in the back of a VW bug if we want. As you can probably imagine, it’s a privilege for a company our size to be associated with someone of Anne-Caro’s caliber.”
In her second year with Ibis, Chausson will continue to focus on enduro, super-D and four-cross racing around the world. “I really enjoyed working with this American company and riding my Ibis Mojo HD,” said Chausson via Ibis press-release. “I’m happy that our collaboration will continue next season, and to represent the Ibis brand from the top of the podium.”
