Bargain-hunting mountain bike buyers have stripped one of the UK’s biggest outdoor equipment shops of its new high-performing mountain bike.

Go Outdoors’ well-equipped Calibre Two.Two and Point.50 bikes, which sell for £359.99 and £593.99 respectively have been selling fast since they were released last year and were given solid review by BikeRadars sister magazine, Mountain Biking UK.

The national chain has said it has lodged a bumper order to replenish dwindling supplies.

GO Outdoors Chief Bike Buyer, Mike Sanderson, said: We knew the bikes would go down a storm; however, I have to admit that the demand driven by the review caught us out a little and we’ve had to move quickly to ensure we quadruple our orders. However, we’ll have more stock coming online and in stores in February.

In the meantime he said customers could pre-order one of the bikes online or in store.

The Two.Two was described as the bargain of the year for its solid chassis and good spec, which includes a RockShox XC 28 coil-sprung fork, hydraulic disc brakes and nine-speed Shimano transmission with Deore shifters and derailleurs.
